💼 Key Responsibilities

🔹Storage Engineering & Architecture

Design and implement enterprise storage solutions including SAN, NAS, Object Storage, and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure.

Configure and optimise enterprise storage arrays such as Dell PowerMax, Pure Storage, Hitachi, and NetApp.

Develop storage tiering strategies aligned with performance, cost efficiency, and workload requirements.

Create capacity planning models and forecasting reports for enterprise storage environments.

Lead storage refresh, migration, upgrade, and consolidation programmes.

🔹 Backup & Recovery Management

Architect advanced backup solutions using platforms like Commvault, Veeam, TSM, Rubrik, or Cohesity.

Develop backup schedules, retention policies, and recovery frameworks.

Implement Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions and test critical workload recovery processes.

Optimise backup windows with deduplication, compression, and storage efficiency improvements.

Integrate backup solutions with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.

🔹 Archiving & Compliance

Design enterprise data archiving strategies for both structured and unstructured data.

Implement archiving platforms like IBM Optim, Mimecast, Enterprise Vault, and cloud-native archives.

Ensure compliance with regulations including POPIA, PFMA, National Archives Act, SARB, and SARS.

Develop data classification, retention policies, and lifecycle management frameworks.
