South African National Parks is currently hiring an Assistant Investigator to join their Environmental Crime Investigations team based in the iconic Kruger National Park, Skukuza.

As an Assistant Investigator, you’ll be directly involved in:
Combating wildlife crime and poaching
Supporting environmental law enforcement
Working with multi-disciplinary teams on high-impact investigations

Based in: Kruger National Park (Skukuza)
R369,915 – R517,860 per annum

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you’ll need:
🎓 NQF Level 6 qualification in:
Policing
Conservation Management
Crime Investigation (or equivalent)
🚗 Valid driver’s license
🔫 Firearm competency (advantageous)
🌱 EMI (Environmental Management Inspector) qualification (advantageous)
🕵️♂️ Minimum 3 years experience in:
Law enforcement
Wildlife crime investigation
Anti-poaching operations
This role requires a strong mix of technical and people skills:
Knowledge of criminal and environmental laws
Crime scene and intelligence management
Strong analytical and investigative skills
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Ability to work in high-pressure environments
Multi-tasking and adaptability
Stakeholder and informant management
Computer literacy and reporting skills
As an Assistant Investigator, you will:
Assist in environmental crime investigations
Support anti-poaching operations
Analyze crime intelligence and incoming reports
Help reconstruct crime scenes
Compile investigation reports and documentation
Support corporate crime investigations when required
Collaborate with various stakeholders and law enforcement teams
