🔧 What You'll Be Doing

As a Maintenance Fibre Technical Assistant, you'll support Fibre Technicians with daily maintenance and installation activities.

Your responsibilities include:

✅ Assisting with preventative and reactive fibre maintenance.

✅ Supporting fibre installations and cable installations.

✅ Keeping work areas clean, safe, and organised.

✅ Maintaining tools, equipment, and maintenance vehicles.

✅ Organising cables on slack brackets.

✅ Completing documentation and labelling accurately.

✅ Performing OTDR monitoring and saving test results.

✅ Supporting fibre testing and fault finding.

✅ Assisting with reinstatements and civil works.

✅ Following SHEQ safety procedures.

✅ Reporting vehicle defects and maintaining records.

✅ Performing additional duties assigned by management.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

Applicants should ideally have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Around 12 months of experience in fibre maintenance, civil works, or telecommunications

  • CFOT Certification (advantageous)

Knowledge of:

  • Fibre installations

  • Cable installations

  • Fibre testing

  • Civil works

  • Windows Operating Systems

  • Fibre duct installation

  • Splicing fundamentals

  • ONT installation

  • Router installation
