💼 Position: Sanatorium Sister
📍 Location: Durban, South Africa
📅 Closing Date: 30 March 2026
This role involves managing the daily healthcare needs of students and supporting the school’s medical services.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Attend daily clinics and administer prescribed medication
✔ Assess and treat acute illness, injuries, and wounds
✔ Assist with doctors’ clinics at the school sanatorium
✔ Respond to medical emergencies when required
✔ Maintain accurate medical records of pupil visits and treatments
✔ Arrange appointments with doctors, specialists, and biokineticists
✔ Coordinate transport to medical appointments
✔ Communicate effectively with parents about pupil wellbeing
✔ Manage pharmacy scripts and medication administration
✔ Conduct impact concussion testing and follow-ups
✔ Provide first aid support at sports events, including rugby fixtures
✔ Assist with school insurance claims and related accounts
✔ Manage ordering and stock control for medical supplies
🎓 Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
✔ Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
✔ Experience in a boarding school environment is an advantage
✔ Valid driver’s licence
✔ Dispensing licence (preferred but not mandatory)
✔ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts
✔ Strong computer literacy (MS Office and Outlook)
✔ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
✔ Empathetic, trustworthy, and proactive personality
✔ Passion for student health and wellbeing
✔ Ability to work effectively within a team environment
