About the Position
The successful candidate will oversee the daily receiving, counting, auditing, and movement of stock throughout the store while ensuring inventory accuracy and efficient stock availability.
This leadership role is ideal for someone with strong stock control experience, excellent people management skills, and a solid background in the hardware retail industry.
Main Responsibilities
As the Department Supervisor, your duties will include:
Managing daily stock receiving and inventory control.
Ensuring accurate stock counts and system records.
Supervising the receiving department team.
Training, mentoring, and developing staff.
Conducting weekly staff meetings.
Managing employee discipline and performance.
Completing stock takes and cycle counts.
Maintaining storeroom organization and OHS compliance.
Monitoring merchandising and stock presentation.
Preparing staff schedules and attendance records.
Handling overtime and leave administration.
Investigating stock discrepancies and shrinkage.
Preparing weekly and monthly management reports.
Ensuring equipment is functional and properly maintained.
Supporting continuous stock availability across the store.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants should have:
✔ Matric or equivalent qualification.
✔ Brights Induction (Service Excellence).
✔ Brights Leadership Training completed.
✔ Intermediate Merchandising Certificate.
✔ At least 2 years' experience in a similar supervisory role.
✔ Minimum 2 years' experience as a Stock Controller.
✔ 3 years' experience in the hardware retail environment.
✔ Previous experience working in a stock department.
✔ Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
✔ Leadership and staff management experience.
✔ Excellent communication skills.
✔ Strong planning and organisational abilities.
✔ Ability to work under pressure.
✔ Knowledge of stock management systems and internal procedures.
