South African National Parks (SANParks) is officially recruiting ONE (1) Handyman to join their team at Table Mountain National Park.

📍 Job Location

Table Mountain National Park – Cape Town

⚠️ Note: No official accommodation is provided. Candidates must arrange their own housing.

✅ Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) / NCV Level 4 or equivalent

  • Valid Driver’s License (essential)

  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in a technical or maintenance field

  • Good written & verbal English communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of:

    • Building maintenance

    • Plumbing

    • Carpentry

    • Equipment repairs

  • Understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

  • Basic administration skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and in unfavourable conditions

  • Willingness to work weekends & public holidays

  • Must pass a practical assessment

  • Computer literacy (MS Word & Excel)

  • Trade Certificates in:

    • Electrical

    • Plumbing

    • Carpentry

    • Air Conditioning / Refrigeration

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing semi-skilled maintenance work (plumbing, welding, electrical, aircon, refrigeration, civil works)

  • Routine maintenance of:

    • Tourist facilities

    • Staff accommodation

    • Ablution blocks

    • Administration buildings

    • Boreholes, sewer systems & electrical infrastructure

  • Daily recording of maintenance tasks

  • Transporting equipment and staff

  • Vehicle inspections

  • Assisting with stock ordering and supply chain processes

  • Basic housekeeping and ad-hoc duties

  • Completing timesheets, log sheets, inventory records, and reports

💰 Salary & Benefits

  • Paterson Grade: B2

  • Competitive basic salary

  • Allowances and benefits in line with SANParks Conditions of Service
