Bayobab, part of the MTN Group, is looking for a Manager – Cyber Defence to lead and strengthen its cyber defence operations in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

🔐 About the Role: Manager – Cyber Defence

As the Manager: Cyber Defence, you will take ownership of detecting, responding to, and mitigating cyber threats across Bayobab’s networks and systems. You’ll work closely with business leaders, technology teams, and third-party security partners to protect critical assets and reduce financial and reputational risk.

This role places you at the frontline of cyber defence, leading investigations, driving rapid incident resolution, and continuously strengthening security posture.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

✔️ Lead cyber defence operations, threat hunting, and incident response
✔️ Develop and implement cyber defence strategies aligned with business goals
✔️ Oversee SOC operations, third-party vendors, and SLA performance
✔️ Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
✔️ Drive cyber resilience roadmaps and continuous security improvements
✔️ Lead cyber incident investigations and response teams
✔️ Manage audits, dashboards, reports, and executive insights
✔️ Become the go-to cyber resilience expert within the organisation

🎓 Minimum Requirements

Education & Certifications
🎓 4-year Degree in IT, Information Systems, or related field
📜 CISM / CISSP / CEH / GCIH / CompTIA Security+ or PenTest+
➕ Additional security certifications are an advantage

Experience
🧠 3–5 years in a similar cyber security leadership role
🌍 Experience in medium to large organisations
🌍 Pan-African or multi-cultural experience is a plus

🔹 Cyber threats, threat intelligence & threat hunting
🔹 SIEM, EDR, UEBA, PAM, CASB, vulnerability management
🔹 Security frameworks: NIST, ISO, CIS
🔹 Incident & vulnerability management
🔹 Strong analytics, reporting & dashboard creation
🔹 Leadership, decision-making & people management
🔹 Ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments
