📍 Location: Gaborone, Botswana

The Senior Buyer is fully accountable for the commercial performance of the Botswana business, with end-to-end responsibility for category management, buying strategy, marketing, range development, and full P&L ownership across multiple categories.
This is more than a buying role — it’s a commercial leadership position with executive-level responsibility.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
✅ Develop and execute integrated category strategies to drive sales, margins, and market share
✅ Manage multiple categories including Fresh, Grocery, General Merchandise, Liquor (where applicable), and Clothing
✅ Lead, coach, and mentor senior buyers and category teams
✅ Drive marketing strategy, range innovation, and private label development
✅ Own budgets, forecasts, margins, and P&L performance
✅ Build strong supplier partnerships and lead senior-level negotiations
✅ Collaborate across operations, logistics, finance, and marketing
✅ Contribute as a key member of the Botswana executive leadership team
🎓 Minimum Requirements
✔ Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
✔ 8–10 years FMCG or retail experience
✔ Senior-level experience in category management or commercial leadership
✔ Strong financial and P&L management background
✔ Exposure to marketing and range development
✔ SAP experience & advanced Excel skills (advantageous)
