## **Job Overview: Driver/Data Capturer**  

- **Position:** Driver/Data Capturer  

- **Contract Duration:** 6 months  

- **Location:** Johannesburg, Gauteng

This dual-role position involves **driving patients and participants** while also **assisting with data collection** for healthcare research. The role requires strong **time management**, **route planning**, and **data entry skills**.

## **Key Responsibilities**  

### **1. Driving Duties**  

- Transport patients, participants, and employees safely within Johannesburg.  

- Plan and manage weekly transport schedules with the Line Manager.  

- Collect and deliver documents and supplies on time.  

- Ensure the vehicle is maintained, clean, and roadworthy.  

- Follow all traffic rules and ensure passenger safety.  

- Log daily trips and report vehicle faults promptly.  

### **2. Data Collection & Entry**  

- Assist in **recruiting and interviewing** research participants.  

- Conduct **patient record reviews** and enter data accurately.  

- Capture survey responses via **laptops or mobile tablets**.  

- Ensure all data is stored securely and follows confidentiality protocols.  

- Maintain organized and accurate data filing.  

### **3. General Support**  

- Provide excellent **customer service** with dignity and respect.  

- Follow study protocols to ensure high-quality data collection.  

- Travel to project sites as needed, including rural or under-resourced areas.

## **Minimum Requirements**  

- **Grade 12 (Matric) preferred.**  

- **Valid Driver’s License** (Code 08 or 10, depending on project needs).  

- **Valid PDP (Public Driver’s Permit)** required.  

- **Minimum 2 years** of experience as a driver in a **clinical trial environment**.  

- At least **1 year of experience** in research, including participant interviews.  

- Proficiency in **Microsoft Excel and Word**.  

- Strong **map-reading** and **route-planning** skills.  

- Ability to **work independently and in a team**.  

- Basic knowledge of **vehicle mechanics** and first aid training is an advantage.  

- Fluency in **English and at least one local language**.
