π Why This Role Matters
As part of the Wits RHI research team, you will help implement safe, compliant, and effective pharmaceutical services across multiple clinical studies. Your work ensures the integrity of research results and the safety of participants—making you a key contributor to medical progress.
π§⚕️ Key Responsibilities You'll Take On
As the site Pharmacist, you will:
Ensure full compliance with legislative, regulatory, and study-specific requirements
Maintain pharmacy operations at trial sites (in-person, remotely, or via email)
Prepare for audits, monitor pharmacy quality, and assist with oversight of affiliated study sites
Manage stock control, storage conditions, drug accountability, and the destruction of expired products
Provide participant counselling, dispense study medications, and review prescriptions
Complete pharmacy CRFs, internal QC processes, and documentation
Train team members on SOPs, GCP standards, and study protocols
Support study setup, SOP development, and accurate filing systems

π What You Need to Qualify
✔ Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
✔ Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
✔ Minimum 4 years’ research experience (including at least 2 years in a clinical trial environment)
✔ Strong administrative and documentation skills
✔ Ability to work independently AND within multidisciplinary teams
✔ Exceptional attention to detail and passion for quality
Bonus skills:
Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Valid driver’s license
Coaching or supervisory experience
