* Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

* Basic Traffic Officer Diploma (from an approved Training Centre)

* 2–5 years experience as a Traffic Officer

* Must be eligible to obtain Peace Officer and Firearm Competency Certificates

* Must be medically fit to undergo strenuous exercises

* Must pass a driving assessment
