The Diamond Dome, Gaborone's premier eco-friendly corporate conference center, is seeking a **Facilities Coordinator** to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the venue. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to the smooth operation of a state-of-the-art venue that plays a vital role in hosting conferences and events.
### **Job Summary**
As the **Facilities Coordinator**, you will be responsible for ensuring that all facility systems, equipment, and outdoor spaces are well-maintained, safe, and meet high operational standards. This role requires someone with experience in facility operations, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to quality.
### **Job Requirements**
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- **Qualifications**: A diploma or degree in **Facilities Management**, **Engineering**, **Business Administration**, **Horticulture**, or a related field.
- **Experience**: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in **facility operations** or **maintenance**, ideally within the hospitality or events industry.
- **Driver’s License**: A valid driver's license.
- **Skills**: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- **Experience with Vendors**: Experience in working with external service providers and maintenance teams.
### **Responsibilities**
As the **Facilities Coordinator**, your key responsibilities will include:
#### **Facility Operations & Maintenance**
- Overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure all facilities are functional.
- Managing preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
- Coordinating repairs and ensuring timely resolutions.
#### **Groundskeeping & Landscaping**
- Supervising landscaping teams to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the center's exterior.
- Overseeing landscaping projects, including irrigation systems and garden maintenance.
- Ensuring outdoor spaces are safe, clean, and visually appealing.
#### **Health, Safety, and Compliance**
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implementing safety protocols and conducting regular inspections to identify hazards.
#### **Vendor & Staff Management**
- Managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Negotiating contracts and overseeing service provider performance.
- Supervising maintenance, janitorial, and groundskeeping staff.
#### **Budgeting & Resource Management**
- Managing the facilities and grounds maintenance budget.
- Monitoring expenses and finding cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
#### **Event Support**
- Collaborating with the event management team to ensure functional setups for conferences and events.
- Resolving facility-related issues promptly during events.
#### **Sustainability Initiatives**
- Implementing eco-friendly strategies to enhance environmental sustainability.
- Monitoring and suggesting cost-saving, sustainable improvements for water and energy usage.
