**Location:** Eland Platinum Mine, Northam, North West Province  

**Grade:** C Upper Band

### **Minimum Requirements**  

To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:  

✅ **Educational Qualifications:**  

- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or Adult Senior Certificate with English literacy  

- Blasting Certificate issued by the **Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE)**  

✅ **Experience & Skills:**  

- Minimum **3 years of experience** as a Shaft Foreman  

- Strong knowledge of **conveyor and chairlift operations**  

- Proficiency in **English language**  

- **Time management and employee relations** skills  

- Strong **supervisory and leadership** abilities  

- **Computer literacy** (MS Office)  

- Willingness to **work overtime and shifts** as required  

### **Key Responsibilities**  

As a **Shaft Foreman**, your responsibilities will include:  

✔ **Supervising and managing teams** of box controllers, conveyor belt operators, chairlift operators, and trackless mobile machine operators for both underground and surface operations  

✔ Overseeing **salvage yard and control room** operations  

✔ Assisting in the **implementation of asset management strategies**  

✔ Managing the **maintenance budget** and ensuring cost efficiency  

✔ **Training and developing subordinates** to improve operational performance  

✔ Ensuring **compliance with engineering standards and procedures**  

✔ Adhering to the **Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) Regulations**
