### **About the Internship**  

**Position**: Internship – Dosimetry Standards (x2)  

**Duration**: 24 months  

**Salary Range**: R6,758 – R8,878 (based on qualifications)  


### **Purpose of the Role**  

As a Dosimetry Standards Intern, you will:  

- Receive training in the **Biomedical Science Unit** under the Dosimetry Standards section.  

- Support the development and maintenance of measurement standards.  

- Contribute to dosimetry audits and perform duties essential to the section.  


### **What We're Looking For**  

**Minimum Qualifications and Skills**:  

- A BSc Hons in Physics or an equivalent qualification.  

- Basic understanding of **radiation protection** and **radiation science**.  

- Proficiency in MS Office software.  

- Knowledge of mathematics and statistics.  

- Strong communication and report-writing skills.  


**Key Responsibilities**:  

- Work in an **accredited laboratory** while adhering to NMISA's Total Quality Management System.  

- Assist in the development and maintenance of dosimetry measurement standards.  

- Generate, validate, and review procedures for dosimetry measurements.  

- Maintain accurate records of equipment and measurement results.  

- Manage administrative tasks, including the procurement of laboratory consumables.  

- Participate in skills transfer programs, attend courses, and present project findings.  

- Uphold environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
