### **Key Duties & Responsibilities**  


As Head Chef, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our restaurant’s reputation by ensuring the quality, variety, and creativity of every dish. Your responsibilities will include:  

- **Food Preparation Oversight:** Control and direct the food preparation process and related activities.  

- **Menu Development:** Create innovative menus using new or existing culinary ideas, ensuring high-quality and diverse offerings.  

- **Quality Assurance:** Approve and refine dishes before serving to customers.  

- **Inventory Management:** Plan orders for equipment and ingredients based on identified shortages.  

- **Team Leadership:** Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff while fostering a climate of cooperation and respect.  

- **Workforce Management:** Oversee workload distribution, staff compensation, and attendance records.  

- **Compliance:** Ensure adherence to nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards.  

- **Cost Optimization:** Conduct menu costing and maintain control over food costs.

### **What We’re Looking For**  


To thrive in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:  

- **Education:** Grade 12 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Hospitality is advantageous).  

- **Experience:** 3-5 years of proven experience as a Head or Executive Chef.  

- **Skills:**  

  - Exceptional kitchen management capabilities.  

  - Strong ability to delegate responsibilities and monitor progress.  

  - Outstanding communication and leadership skills.  

  - Proficiency in MS Office, restaurant management software, and MICROS POS.  

  - Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and efficient kitchen processes.  

- **Certifications:** Credentials in health and safety training are a plus.
