**Position: Legal Advisor – East London**
As a Legal Advisor, you will play a critical role in advising and assisting NEASA’s members with all matters related to Employment Law, representing them in disputes, and ensuring compliance with labour regulations. Your work will directly impact the success of employers across the region, making this an exciting and rewarding role.
### **Minimum Requirements**
To be considered for the Legal Advisor position, you must meet the following criteria:
- **LLB degree** (preferably an admitted attorney)
- **Experience in Employment Law** and litigation
- **Litigation experience** at the CCMA and bargaining councils (preferred)
- **Fluent in English and Afrikaans**
- **Valid driver’s license** and your own reliable transport
- Exceptional **interpersonal** and **organisational skills**
- Ability to work under pressure with a strong sense of **integrity**, **accountability**, and **confidentiality**
- A **strong, confident personality**
### **Key Duties and Responsibilities**
As a Legal Advisor at NEASA, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, including:
- **Chairing disciplinary and incapacity hearings**, retrenchment consultations, and negotiations/meetings with trade unions.
- Representing **members in litigation** at the CCMA, bargaining councils, and Labour Court.
- Advising and assisting members with **employment legislation** and compliance matters.
- Drafting and reviewing **contracts of employment**, **policies**, and ensuring they align with current legislation.
- Recruiting **new members** to NEASA.
