This position is a critical legal appointment under section 2.17.1 of the Mine and Work Act, dedicated to ensuring safety and compliance across all operations.  

### **Position Details**

### **Key Purpose of the Role**  

The Safety Officer is responsible for:  

- Developing, implementing, and managing safety and risk control systems.  

- Ensuring legal compliance with safety regulations and standards.  

### **Minimum Requirements**  

To qualify for this position, you must have:  

- **Education:**  

  - Grade 12 / Std 10  

  - National Diploma in Safety Management  

- **Certifications:**  

  - SAMTRAC  

  - Comsoc I & II  

  - Accident Investigation  

- **Experience:**  

  - 3–5 years in the mining industry  

  - Mining trade qualification  

- **Skills:**  

  - Advanced computer literacy  

  - A valid Code 10 driver’s license  

  - Proven ability to multi-task  

### **Skills and Competencies**

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.  

- Strategic thinking and a detailed approach to problem-solving.  

- Observational and analytical abilities.
