## **What is the FASSET Bursary?**  

The FASSET bursary aims to empower South African learners by providing financial support for qualifications in the finance and accounting services sector (FAS). Priority will be given to IT-related qualifications and other national critical skills.  

### **Who Can Apply?**  

The bursary is open to two groups:  

### 1. **Unemployed Learners**  

To qualify, applicants must:  

- Be South African citizens.  

- Have a combined household income not exceeding R1,000,000 per annum.  

- Be registered or accepted at a public TVET college, university, or university of technology.  

- Pursue qualifications within the FAS sector (priority for IT-related fields and critical skills).  

### 2. **Learners in a Learning Development Programme (Interns and Trainees)**  

To qualify, applicants must:  

- Be registered or accepted at a public TVET college, university, or university of technology.  

- Pursue qualifications within the FAS sector (priority for IT-related fields and critical skills).

## **What Does the Bursary Cover?**  

### For University Learners:  

- **Capped funding**: Up to R100,000 per annum.  

- Covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, and meal allowances.  

### For TVET College Learners:  

- **Capped funding**: Up to R40,000 per annum.  

- Covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, and meal allowances.  

### For Interns and Trainees:  

- **Capped funding**: Up to R100,000 for universities and R40,000 for TVET colleges per annum.  

- Covers tuition fees and prescribed textbooks only.

## **How Are Applicants Selected?**  

- **First-come, first-served basis.**  

- Priority given to learners with strong academic achievements.
