### Program Highlights:

- **Institutionalized Training:** Begin with around 20 weeks of training at the Industrial Training Centre (ITC) in Mount Edgecombe, where you'll gain foundational knowledge and skills.

- **Factory-Based Training:** Gain 29 weeks of practical exposure by rotating through different sections of the factory. This includes both operational and off-season training, providing a well-rounded experience.

- **Annual Evaluations:** Each year concludes with a Mini Trade Test (phase test) to assess your skills and progress. Successfully completing this will allow you to advance to the next phase.

- **Certification:** The final Trade Test leads to a nationally recognized qualification in fitting and turning, setting you up for a rewarding career.

*Note:* This is a fixed-term contract subject to renewal based on performance and progress.

### Key Responsibilities

- Apply technical skills in real-world scenarios, working under the supervision of the foreman.

- Learn to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment.

### Qualifications and Competencies Required

To qualify for the *RCL Foods Technical Apprenticeship*, applicants must have:

- **Minimum Education:** Grade 12 with at least an N3 qualification or NCV Level 4. A qualification at N4 or higher is a distinct advantage.

- **Essential Subjects:**  

  - Mathematics  

  - Engineering Science  

  - Engineering Drawing, Graphics & Design, or Mechanical Draughting  

  - Fitting and Machining, Mechanical Technology, Mechanotechnology, or Mechanotechnics
