Hillcrest Primary School is on the lookout for a dedicated **Bursar** to join our team. If you have a passion for education and possess strong financial management skills, we invite you to apply for this critical role in our administration. 


### Job Overview


As the Bursar, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the school’s operations. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the financial health of the institution while maintaining positive relationships with parents and staff.


### Key Responsibilities


- **Invoicing and Debt Collection:** Efficiently manage school fee invoicing, aftercare services, and debt collection.

- **Financial Reporting:** Prepare monthly statements and assist with bank reconciliations.

- **Parent Support:** Address parents' account queries and provide assistance regarding financial matters.

- **Payment Processing:** Manage the counting and receipting of all cash, including processing payments via Pastel Accounting and Karri.

- **Administrative Duties:** Handle general administrative tasks, including the annual updates for Karri and registration for events.

- **Collections Management:** Follow up on unpaid accounts and, when necessary, coordinate with debt collectors.


### Requirements


To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:


- Previous experience as a Bursar, preferably in a public school setting.

- Strong and persuasive debt collection skills.

- Proficiency in **Pastel Accounting**, **Microsoft Excel**, and **Word**.

- Aptitude for handling figures and financial documentation.

- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to engage with parents professionally.

- A thorough understanding of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial matters.

- A valid police clearance certificate.
