### Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of essential finance functions, ensuring smooth financial operations within our Tuckshop, Hostel, and other school-related financial areas. The main responsibilities include:

- **Bank Account Processing & Reconciliation**: Ensure timely processing and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts.

- **Revenue Oversight**: Manage revenue for the Tuckshop and Hostel.

- **Monthly Statements**: Generate and send monthly statements to parents for Tuckshop accounts.

- **Refund Administration**: Handle all refunds to parents with accuracy.

- **Ledger Reconciliation**: Ensure accurate reconciliations for Tuckshop and Hostel ledgers.

- **Inventory Management**: Oversee inventory procedures for Tuckshop and Hostel processing.

- **Variance Reconciliation**: Investigate and reconcile any financial variances when applicable.

- **Creditors & Petty Cash Reconciliation**: Prepare creditors’ reconciliations, assist with payments, and manage petty cash.

- **Fixed Asset Reconciliations**: Maintain and reconcile fixed assets.

- **Year-End Audit Assistance**: Support year-end audit procedures.

- **Additional Accounting Functions**: Perform other finance-related duties as needed.

### Essential Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with strong technical skills, financial acumen, and an excellent attitude toward teamwork. Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

- **Educational Background**: B.Com Accounting degree with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a financial environment.

- **Technical Skills**: Advanced Excel proficiency and hands-on experience with Pastel Evolution are essential.

- **Organizational Skills**: Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.

- **Teamwork**: Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

- **Language Proficiency**: Excellent written and spoken English.
