**Position Requirements and Key Qualifications:**

- **Educational Background**: Grade 12, GCC Certificate for Opencast and Underground Mines, National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

- **Experience**: At least 5 years in a managerial role, with a minimum of 7 years in Section Engineer roles within the mining or heavy engineering industry.

- **Competencies**: 

  - **Behavioral Skills**: Strong business acumen, leadership, relationship-building, and change management abilities.

  - **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, Electronic Document Management, Design and Draughting, Learning Management, and Production Performance Management Systems.

- **Legal Requirements**: Section 3.1 A and Section 7.2 legal appointments.

- **License**: Valid Code B driver’s license.


### Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

- Lead and manage engineering and operations change programs.

- Oversee business intelligence initiatives and trend analyses to enhance operational efficiency.

- Develop and implement compliance frameworks for safety, health, environment, risk, and quality (SHERQ).

- Ensure the mine’s strategic goals align with macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions.

- Manage contracts, engineering support, and business/legal reporting in adherence to IMS standards.

- Cultivate strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.


### Additional Information

The selected candidate must meet the health and safety standards as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and Assmang's Code of Practice on Minimum Standards of Fitness. The appointment will begin with a six-month probation period, and compensation will be provided on a competitive, all-inclusive flexible package.
