### **Purpose of the Job**
The **Cardiology Suites Secretary** plays a critical role in ensuring an organized and efficient process for patients visiting the Cardio Suites. You will be responsible for managing appointments, billing, and patient communication while providing top-tier customer service to create a seamless experience for patients.
### **Key Responsibilities**
- **Appointment Scheduling**: Organize and schedule appointments for cardiology and cardiothoracic patients, ensuring the correct coordination with doctors.
- **Patient Authorization**: Ensure patient authorizations are obtained prior to consultations with medical professionals and communicate with medical aids regarding admission authorizations.
- **Stock Control**: Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels for the Cardio Suites, perform monthly stock takes, and minimize wastage through proper management.
- **Billing**: Accurately bill patients daily after their consultation and ensure all financial procedures are followed.
- **Communication**: Effectively communicate with doctors, theatres, and wards regarding scheduled operations and patient admissions.
- **Confidentiality**: Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of the role, ensuring compliance with hospital guidelines.
- **Filing**: Properly file all relevant documents and hand over files to the case manager within set guidelines.
### **Qualifications & Experience**
- **Grade 12 certificate** (Matric)
- **5 years’ experience** in a secretarial role, preferably in private medical consulting rooms
- Previous experience in billing departments or case management is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of the Tri-four system is advantageous
