The Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI), in partnership with the National Research Foundation's South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (NRF-SAASTA), invites eligible unemployed graduates to apply for the **DSTI-National Youth Service (NYS) Programme**.

### **Who Can Apply?**
This programme is open to graduates aged **18 to 35 years** with qualifications in the following fields:
1. **Science, Engineering, and Technology Graduates**
- Deployment to organisations such as universities, schools, science centres, biodiversity conservation sites (botanical and zoological gardens), and non-profits focusing on mathematics, science, and technology.
2. **Communication Science, Journalism, or Media Studies Graduates**
- Placement at community media outlets to serve as science knowledge intermediaries, promoting science journalism and media initiatives.
- Graduates will primarily be deployed across district municipalities and metros.

### **What’s in it for You?**
Selected candidates will receive a **monthly stipend** to support their daily needs, based on their qualification level:
- **National Diploma (NQF Level 6):** R4,500
- **Bachelor’s Degree / B. Tech (NQF Level 7):** R5,000
- **Honours Degree (NQF Level 8):** R5,500
- **Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9):** R6,500
- **PhD (NQF Level 10):** R7,700

**Interested graduates** are required to submit the following:
- A **covering letter** explaining why you wish to participate and your preferred province for deployment.
- A **comprehensive CV**.
- Certified copies of your **ID, qualifications, or academic transcript**.
- A **letter of completion** if your qualification is complete but the certificate has not been issued.
