### About the AmaZulu FC Internship Programme 2025


**Position:** Sport Science Intern  

**Duration:** 1 Year (Starting January 2025)  


The AmaZulu High-Performance Department is seeking a talented, motivated individual to join the team as a Sport Science Intern. This role will allow you to work closely with industry professionals and contribute to the club’s success while gaining invaluable experience. 


### Key Responsibilities


- Provide **sport science support** and interventions, including performance testing across sports physiology, data analysis, and strength & conditioning tailored to AmaZulu FC players.

- Assist in the **research outputs** of the High-Performance Department, contributing to cutting-edge sports research.

- Monitor players and maintain AmaZulu’s athlete monitoring system, helping to optimize performance and health.

- Support various facets of the **AmaZulu FC Academy** while also getting occasional exposure to the Senior Team’s training and operations.

- Conduct stock checks on medical supplies and strength training equipment.

- Participate in the department’s **monthly educational workshops**, further expanding your knowledge and skills.


### Essential Requirements


To qualify for this internship, you’ll need:


- **Honours Degree** in Sport Science or Biokinetics.

- Demonstrable **practical experience** in the Sports Science field.

- Strong **Microsoft Office** skills and computer competency.


### Desirable Skills


- Interest or experience in football and **strength & conditioning certifications** (CSCS or equivalent).

- Background in **athlete management, monitoring, and data analytics**.

- Evidence of **postgraduate research** experience, including data collection, statistical analysis, research methodology, and literature review skills.


### Candidate Qualities


- Ability to work within a **coach-driven and multidisciplinary system**.

- Passion for the sports science profession and understanding of the football industry.

- Strong **people skills**: collaboration, honesty, professionalism, patience.

- Able to handle pressure and adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
