Port Shepstone High School is committed to academic excellence and fostering a supportive educational environment. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Admin Clerk/Cashier to join our dynamic Finance team.


**Position Overview:**

The Admin Clerk/Cashier will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the school's finance department.


**Key Responsibilities:**

- Process cash and point-of-sale transactions, issue receipts, and balance the cash register.

- Interact with customers, staff, and learners professionally and courteously.

- Record transactions accurately using the Pastel software package.

- Maintain cashier float and ensure accurate daily reporting of all money received.

- Safeguard confidential information of student and staff accounts.

- Stay updated with modifications to school finance policies and procedures.

- Conduct and maintain weekly and monthly boarding establishment consumable stock counts.

- Accurately update and maintain asset registers.

- Maintain precise stock inventory and movement records.

- Assist staff with reconciliation of special event payments.

- Perform various administrative duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, and sorting mail.

- Work flexibly outside normal office hours when required.

- Follow instructions meticulously, work autonomously, and provide accurate feedback.

- Solve problems efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


**Minimum Requirements:**

- Valid Police Clearance Certificate.

- Matric Certificate and NQF 4 qualification in Accounting & Finance.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.

- Multi-lingual ability is an advantage.

- Prior experience as a cashier and stock controller.

- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Pastel.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication and time management skills.

- Knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
